What have I done

When we started the Renovation of the new Condo I put together a couple of color boards because for this place I had to kind of think outside the box, I usually like more of a Contemporary style with clean lines and hints of bright colors but on this one I had to kind of stay true to the style of the condo as well as keep Resale in mind as I don't think I will be in this one that long. So here are a couple of the boards I came up with.
Below are some samples I was thinking of using in the bathroom. Cobblestone travertine on the Floor, beautiful honed and filled cream travertine with a slight vein on the Shower walls (not shown) with this Blue Ocean Glass Accent in shower and my favortie stone right now, Silver Travertine for the Vanity and back splash, and two different paint options. Neither of which I even ended up using.

The lower options are the wood (actually Laminate but shhhh no one can tell) that would go throughout the home and the Travertine tile to go in the entry, kitchen and bathroom flooring , Granite Counter tops, Cabinet color which is already installed and I am not changing as they are in great shape, the Honed Travertine is for Kitchen back splash. and the two tone paint colors to go throughout the home.

I did go with some of these options above such as the Laminate for Flooring throughout and Cobblestone Travertine for entry and kitchen. The kitchen back splash in the 1"x2" Travertine but I did a Mother of Pearl and glass mosaic mix for an accent.
My Tile setter is starting tomorrow so stay tuned for some updated photos.
Here are some of the Tear out photos from a couple of weekend ago.

Below picture is a bit blurry but there was this odd ledge that was useless so we cut it off and going to have it be a flush bar.

She's coming down!

This had to of been the original carpet and they were built in the late 70's and the last lady that lived there well let's just say she looovvvveeeedddd her cats! All of them:)

Carpet and ugly tile be gone:)

Should be moving along good now. I worked this Saturday but Sunday I was able to go over and I finished painting the two Bedrooms as well as the Hallway and I had painted the bathroom the week before so should have some more pics soon:)

Sexy Fireplace

Hey all just wanted to share some pics of a beautiful home I got to see today, i don't always get to see the installed finished product. It's not completely finished but we installed the Kitchen counters which is a White Quartzite and the Full Slab Fireplace. There are two seams in this fireplace that I think we did an fantastic job on making them as invisible as possible, so gorgeous this is my new favorite stone as I am sure you will all seen in past posts, it is the stone I used for the flooring in our new offices as well as my own vanity and back splash in my new condo in the bathroom.  I love the horizontal veining and  unique coloring. The mix of oyster grey/blue mixed with  the rich taupes it's the perfect marriage of warm and cool. It have also seen it where it can be much greyer and I love that too.

Have a great night!!

Update

I thought I would drop you a few pics of the tear out that began about three weeks ago. My contractor/Father:) has been doing a fantastic job but I have been working him hard. He works out of town so really we have only gotten two weekends to work on the new place so I think that we have done a lot in a short time, especially when every time we turn around there are surprises that end up needing more work and take us more time.

The First weekend we were concentrating on just trying to get some of the tear out done as well as plumbing issues straightened out, and let me tell you how much my Father LOOOVVVVEEEESSSS Plumbing.
This picture below of him  jammed inside of a cabinet tells all and I didn't even get a picture of the good one as I was laughing too hard it they were all out of focus.

Ha Ha all I can do is laugh when I see this as I am replaying this in my head. Let Me Explain....
Well Rick, Aka-Contractor, Aka- Dad, is a weeeee bit afraid of Spiders and this house has been empty for a while so there were a couple large spiders hanging around.
So he had to jam himself into the sink cabinet in order to disconnect the plumbing and garbarator and to make a long story short there was a massive spider under there. It took him a while to get into the foreign yoga pose in the first place to fit himself under there, so that in itself was funny to watch. Then to see him squirming and panicking trying to get out from under the sink but.. ha ha ha ha ha ha, sorry I can't tell this story without dying laughing anyways you could almost see the fact that his brain was telling his limbs to move but he was totally stuck, panic stricken and stuck with black gunk running out of the pipes and a spider ready to pounce. Priceless
Stay tuned for more pics:)Hope everyone has a good night

New and Old

Hello Everyone Long time no blog:)
I want to apologize for being MIA for the past few months...well who am I kidding the past Five months there has just been so much going on but now there is still a lot going on but it is now manageable and I can start back to blogging.
Well in the past five months a lot has happened.
The Show room renovation is really coming along although we are still awaiting our DP from the City which can take about 3 months, the interior stuff is coming along.
I went to New York in September and that helped in making some final decisions on the Design of the Show room and the feature stair case that we are doing. We went on a tile buying trip and were lucky enough to be toured around by our friends at Artistic Tile. Their Manhattan show room is UNBELIEVABLE!
There was just so many design studios and show rooms in New york to admire and collect inspiration from it was a lot to take in, in only three short days but I am so grateful that I got to go and will definitely being going back.

Then on the personal side of life I have bought a new condo:) Yup it was such a great deal and I was very excited to start the DIY reno's, which I can say started a couple weeks ago. My current condo is currently for sale, it has not sold yet but hopefully soon as I do believe it is a beautiful condo and I fell in love with it three shot years a go and know someone else will too. I am hoping to move into the new condo by mid November so if my condo doesn't sell then I will rent it. Here are a couple pics of my current condo that is for Sale just in case you know anyone looking for their first One Bedroom open concept Condo:)

So here are some of the pics of the place when I purchased it. Yes I know what you are thinking...you want to know who in the world makes that beautiful shade of green in the bathroom, it looks like something you might find in the inside of a babies diaper (too descriptive?)

Should I keep that as my feature fixture....mmmmmm how bout no!

The Picture above, what is that in the corner you ask? Well these condos use to have pot belly stoves in them that were used as Fireplaces and this was the base which we thought was made of concrete but we were wrong, this was one of the only "Surprises" that was actually a good one as it ended up being much easier than we thought to remove.

Yes those are the thickest, Dirtiest grout lines EVER

Yes that is the green above peaking through, not sure what is going on in the picture below the paint really reads more blue than green which it was not it was VERY nasty green just like picture above and I have actually changed it to a blue.

This cultured Marble top will never due:) Silver Travertine my new favorite stone here we come!!!

Well no that you have seen a sneak peak stay tuned as I will be posting updates as construction continues:)
