Lighting

Ok as you all are aware I have purchased a new beautiful bed from Restoration Hardware!!! Now comes the fun part of buying all the new stuff for my room.
Lighting will be a major part of that and I cannot wait to get rid of the ugly old Basic Builder light.

I was shopping this weekend and went and checked out well of all places Restoration hardware go figure, and these were a few I liked.

then I decided to go check out  the new Robinson Lighting and Bath show room, which I might ad is fantastic so I went online and found a few I liked as well

There is just WAY too many pretty lights to choose from how will I decide:)

REALLY!!!!!

I have tried so hard to be positive that summer will one day come for us Calgarians and there was light at the end of the tunnel for a few days as we were spoiled with +10, all the snow had melted and we all thought we were home free,  that we had survived another winter then just like that.............It's BACK!!
I just hope that mother nature will listen to Melissa over at Veranda then maybe just maybe we will start to see the sun:)
I was reminiscing this morning on a recent trip to California as well as the numerous trips to my Aunts beautiful place in Mexico and well the pictures didn't really cheer me up, they just made me look up cheap flights!

Then there was California a couple months ago, it was the greatest trip got to stay in a condo right on the beach, I really could not ask for a better view to wake up to every morning and well I think I found the house I am going to buy!

Well enough Dreaming and reminiscing back to reality

Time for a New Bed!

Well I decided  when my bed collapsed in the middle of the night (and no I wish I had been doing something to warrant it) that it was time to get a new bed as the one that I had purchased when I first bought my condo  although esthetically pleasing to the eye, being beautifully modern and low profile from IKEA! has not proved to stand the test of time. As nice as it was and as inexpensive as it was at the time, it is a platform bed so it only has a mattress no box spring which again may be ok if the frame was built to last but it WAS NOT!
I have been searching for sometime for a bed that will withstand the test of time style wise. Also that I can change bedding, pillows, and paint colors in my room as often as I want and will be neutral enough to work with anything. I tend to change my mind frequently and get board very quickly!
So the search is finally over I found one! Thank You Restoration Hardware.

I love its neutral fabric, distressed wood and clean line.  The complimenting masculine nail head detail against the feminine tapered leg is beautiful as well.
 Now it is on back order so unfortunately I will not get to curl up in this bad boy for another couple months but I am very sure it will be worth the wait!
Now it's time to shop for new bedding and accessories. Also I will need to re paint! I know how I will be spending my next few weekend I am so excited:)

St.Patty's day find

Well as I am sure everyone enjoyed all the green beer they could take yesterday I found a little something else for my St.Patrick's day compliments of Victoria Secret!  Now I would be just fine as a leprechaun if I could wear these:)

Updates

I thought that everyone would like to see what has been happening with the commercial renovations so it has come VERY far since we started back in July of last year.
Here are some updated pics with the beautiful artwork that we created, with lots of help from ABL Imaging.
 I will keep updating pictures as progress continues right now we are almost finished the StoneGallery end of things (slab show room)  so offices and all front facade is to come next so now is the fun part:) It has been my first commercial, well not just commercial first complete Design project that I have started from start to finish. From concept of design, demolition all the way to the fun parts which would be finishing materials. I will say that getting permits and keeping an eye on contractors has to be the funnest part! No sarcasm there really:)

Today's Purchase

In the search for a economic fix for my book shelves that look a mess these days! I decided to well, go to Ikea although I think that sometimes it is more of a headache than it is worth there are sometimes when you can get some good finds. I purchased some glass doors they are see through glass with a slight frosted stencil of what looks almost like bamboo shoots. Very inexpensive for glass and they went on without a hitch with the help of my Contractor/Handyman/Father Richard! They add a bit of interest while keeping my mess hidden.

Commercial Project 2010 - 2011

Well as promised FINALLY after having to re configure computer that crashed I have uploaded the before pictures of the ugly old Building we are renovating and turning into a beautiful show room. Now look closely at all the walls, floors, ceiling!! How will we ever be able to make this into a beautiful show room you wonder? Well stay tuned as I will be adding some of the after pictures very soon:) This project is far from complete but I will keep you posted as to how it is coming along! It is a large undertaking and is mostly consuming my life but WOW has it been fun:)

Technology

Well all I must apologize technology is great when it works! I have had no Internet or email since Wednesday, my work computer with all the great remodel pics has been down so I will post some pics tomorrow for all to see meanwhile I will be answering some 62 emails:)
